One look at an old pressure washer and a pile of dusty ladders convinced Matt Dredger to ditch his career in asset management and turn his hand to entrepreneurship.
When he stumbled across the unused tools and appliances in his garage and dreamt up a website that allowed him to lease them to neighbours, the question was not whether to give the business a shot but how quickly he could get started.
“A few years ago there was nowhere someone like me could go to work on a business while learning from other people. There was no one-stop shop for people starting up who needed advice on things like finance or IT,” said Dredger, 43.
